Nancy Greenstein is dedicated to upholding Santa Monica College’s tradition of excellence – outstanding teachers, valuable community programs, and mission of student success.
As your Trustee, she has consistently provided successful leadership by:
Continuing high-quality education and workforce development
Advocating for equitable State funding, including for SMC Emeritus
Recruiting and retaining excellent faculty
Providing strong fiscal management
Promoting equity and programs responsive to local communities and environment
Encouraging effective collaboration especially with Santa Monica and Malibu schools.
She is proud of SMC’s resilience and resourcefulness throughout the COVID-19 crisis. Her work included a systematic pivot to online classes and support while maintaining our position as number one in transfers to UC, UCLA, and USC.
Under Nancy's leadership SMC increased student financial aid, and created new services, including Chromebook lending, campus pantry, home food delivery, and mental health counseling.
